國朝保和殿大學士張廷玉等奉敕撰。經始於康熙十八年，雍正二年詔諸臣續蕆其事，至乾隆四年告成。其中考究未詳者，近又承命刊正。今謹以新定之本，著於錄。

國朝藍鼎元撰。記康熙辛丑平定臺灣逆寇朱一貴始末。起是年四月，迄雍正元年四月。鼎元時在其兄總兵官廷珍軍中，故見聞最悉。《東征集》六卷，皆軍中公牘書檄，亦鼎元代廷珍作也。

雍正十年，奉敕校刊。乾隆三年告成。所載臣工奏折，凡二百二十三人。皆恭錄批答，俾共知所陳之得失。非惟明燭無疆，物來畢照，為自古聖王之所無；即累牘連編，悉經丹毫甲乙。唐虞三代以來，亦未聞如是之勤政也。
