28  | 《封氏聞見錄》曰：「切字始于周頤。頤好為體語，因此切字，皆有紐：紐有平上去入之分。沈約遂因之，而撰《四聲譜》。」沈括、曾糙俱以切字始于西域佛家。漢人訓字，止曰讀如某字而已，無反切也。吳獬以為始於後魏校書令李啟撰《聲韻》十卷、夏侯詠撰《聲韻略》十二卷。李涪《刊誤》亦主其說。至于葉韻之說，古人所無。顧亭林以為始于顏師古、章懷太子二人。王伯厚以為始于隋陸法言撰《切韻》五卷。余按：漢末涿郡高誘解《淮南子》、《呂氏春秋》，有「急氣、緩氣、閉口、籠口」之法。蓋反切之學，實始于此。而孫叔然炎猶在其後。 |
