41  | 林汝翥字大葳，福清人。萬歷丙午舉人，知沛縣。山東妖賊徐鴻儒以白蓮教聚眾數十萬，鄰邑皆陷，攻沛，汝翥七戰皆捷，擒妖人王普光黨有功，特擢御史。四年六月，巡視京城，民曹大妻與人奴角口，服毒死，火者曹進、傅國興率眾大掠奴主家，用大錐錐其主，刑官不敢問。汝翥捕得進，進懼劾，請受杖，遂杖之五十。國興邀於道，罵不已，汝翥收系之，亦請受杖，復杖之。魏忠賢大怒，立傳旨廷杖汝翥。先數日，群閹毆殺萬燝，汝翥大懼，逸至遵化，巡撫鄧渼為代題，都御史孫瑋、御史潘雲翼等交章論救。不聽，卒杖之，削籍歸。崇禎初，起官右參議，分守溫處道，不赴。久之，起瓊州道，坐奸民煽亂，貶秩歸。福王時，起雲南僉事，已而解職。魯王次長垣，召為兵部右侍郎，與員外郎林垐同抗節不屈，吞金屑死。《明史》 |
