2  | 介子推事見於《左傳》，則曰晉侯求之不獲，以綿上為之田。曰以志吾過，且旌善人。《呂氏春秋》則曰：負釜蓋簦終身不見。二書去當時未遠，為得其實。然之推亦未久而死。故以田祿其于爾。《史記》之言稍異，亦不過曰使人召之則亡，聞其入綿上山中，于是環綿上山中而封之，以為介推田，號曰介山而已。立枯之說始自屈原，燔死之說始自《莊子》。（《容齋三筆》以為始自劉向《新序》，非也。）《楚辭·九章》：惜往日介子忠而立枯兮，文公寤而追求。封介山而為之禁兮，報大德之優游。思久故之親身兮，因縞素而哭之。《莊子》則曰：介子推至忠也，自割其股以食文公，文公後背之，子推怒而去抱木而燔死。（〈盜蹠篇〉。東方朔〈七諫〉、〈丙吉傳〉、長安士伍尊書，劉向《說苑》《新序》因之。《水經注》引王肅《喪服要記》桂樹之問，亦辨以為誣。）於是瑰奇之行彰，而廉靖之心沒矣。今當以《左氏》為據。割股燔山，理之所無，皆不可信。 |
