2 | 介子推事見於《左傳》,則曰晉侯求之不獲,以綿上為之田。曰以志吾過,且旌善人。《呂氏春秋》則曰:負釜蓋簦終身不見。二書去當時未遠,為得其實。然之推亦未久而死。故以田祿其于爾。《史記》之言稍異,亦不過曰使人召之則亡,聞其入綿上山中,于是環綿上山中而封之,以為介推田,號曰介山而已。立枯之說始自屈原,燔死之說始自《莊子》。(《容齋三筆》以為始自劉向《新序》,非也。)《楚辭·九章》:惜往日介子忠而立枯兮,文公寤而追求。封介山而為之禁兮,報大德之優游。思久故之親身兮,因縞素而哭之。《莊子》則曰:介子推至忠也,自割其股以食文公,文公後背之,子推怒而去抱木而燔死。(〈盜蹠篇〉。東方朔〈七諫〉、〈丙吉傳〉、長安士伍尊書,劉向《說苑》《新序》因之。《水經注》引王肅《喪服要記》桂樹之問,亦辨以為誣。)於是瑰奇之行彰,而廉靖之心沒矣。今當以《左氏》為據。割股燔山,理之所無,皆不可信。 |
