1  | 命為右迪功郎。王應麟《玉海》所載亦同。惟言名世初以草澤得召，上書後，始詔賜出身，充史館校勘。《朱子語類》又謂其以趙汝愚薦，以白衣起為著作郎，後忤秦檜勒停。均與心傳所記不同，則未詳孰是耳。《文獻通考》、《宋藝文志》俱作四十卷，惟《宋㑹要》作十四卷。《中興書目》作十二卷，殆傳寫之訛。其書長於辯論，大扺以《左傳》、《國語》為主。自《風俗通》以下各采其是者従之，而於《元和姓纂》抉摘獨詳。又以《熙寜姓纂》、《宋百官公卿家譜》二書互為㕘校，亦往往足補史傳之闕。蓋始於政宣而成於紹興之中年，父子相繼以就是編，故較他姓氏書特為精核。《朱子語類》謂名世學甚博，姓氏一部，考證甚詳不虛也。後椿作《畫斷》，亦號賅洽，殆承其討論之餘緒乎？宋時紹興有刋本，今已散佚。《永樂大典》散附千家姓，下已非舊。苐惟考王應麟所引原序，稱始於國姓，餘分四聲，則其體例與《元和姓纂》相同。今亦以韻𨽻姓，重為編輯，仍釐為四十卷。目録二卷，其複姓則以首字為主，附見于各韻之後，間有徴引訛謬者，併附著按語，各為糾正焉。乾隆四十六年三月恭校上。 |
