13  | 自餘撰《萇楚齋隨筆》，至《四筆》成，先後排印，見之者議論非一。從兄錫之觀察謂，可與南宋鄱陽洪文敏公邁《容齋五筆》並傳。四弟晦之郎中又謂，尚難與崑山顧亭林茂才炎武《日知錄》齊驅並駕。雖兄弟友愛之意，皆非餘所敢任也。《四庫全書提要》論兩宋說部，以王楙《野客叢書》、文敏《容齋五筆》、王應麟《困學紀聞》為最善，《日知錄》在我朝三百年間尤為挺出，豈余淺見寡聞，所能望其項背。惟數十年讀書辛苦，千慮一得之見，或亦間有自信，尚不背名教，無大疵謬，或可為觀覽之助。天下後世，如有置餘書於南宋趙彥衛之《雲麓漫鈔》、陸游之《老學葊筆記》、周密之《癸辛雜識》、葉某之《愛日齋叢鈔》四者之間，則餘心已大慰矣。今《五筆》編成，增入《隨筆》至《五筆》《引用書目》一卷、《目錄》一卷，以便檢閱。後擬每五筆成，附刊《引用書目》及《目錄》於卷首，以免煩瑣云。己巳五月，廬江劉聲木十枝，原名體信字述之自序。 |
