壬申乾化二年夏閏五月朔，日有蝕之。梁主如洛。六月，梁主遇弒，郢王友珪僭位。秋七月，遣刑部尚書李皎尊王為尚父。八月己丑，城西陵。

辛巳七年春三月，王從弟鎰至自淮南，王亦歸李濤以報之。鎰以天祐二年睦州之役為賊所執，李濤以乾化三年來冠我衣錦獲之，至是各歸焉。

師還，承制改王內衙都指揮使、檢校尚書右僕射。冬十月，授王金紫光祿大夫、檢校司空。五年秋七月，賜王號贊正安國功臣，進授司徒、守湖州刺史。乾化三年夏四月，淮將前吉州刺史李濤率兵二萬，自千秋嶺寇我衣錦軍，命王率師討之。王以山谷迂僻，乃盡伐樹木。絕其歸路，為三覆以待之。時江南國主徐知誥在賊中，與王騎相逼，幾獲之，俄而知誥易服，乘白騾而竄。壬辰，獲李濤及偏將咸知進等八千餘人，兵甲生口稱是。是行也，王營中有氣如龍虎之狀，賊中望之曰：「此霸者之氣也。」
