大明律三十卷洪武六年命刑部尚書劉惟謙詳定，其篇目皆淮唐律，採用舊律三百八十八條，舊令改律三十六條，因事制律三十一條，掇唐律以補遺一百二十三條，合六百有六條，其間損益務合輕重之宜，每成一篇，輒繕寫以進，上令揭於兩廡之壁，親加裁定，及成篇，命學士宋濂為表以進，九年十月，又謂猶有擬議，命右丞相胡惟庸，御史大夫汪廣洋複詳加考定，厘正者凡十有三條，餘如故頒行。
