27  | 元豐五年，忽得語澀疾，疑且死，豫作遺表置臥內，即有緩急，當以畀所善者上之。官制行，帝指御史大夫曰：「非司馬光不可。」又將以為東宮師傅。蔡確曰：「國是方定，願少遲之。」《資治通鑑》未就，帝尤重之，以為賢於荀悅《漢紀》，數促使終篇，賜以穎邸舊書二千四百卷。及書成，加資政殿學士。凡居洛陽十五年，天下以為真宰相，田夫野老皆號為司馬相公，婦人孺子亦知其為君實也。 |
