袁繼忠938年 - 992年，并州（今山西太原）人。袁進之子。生于後晉高祖天福三年，早年以蔭補右班殿直。乾德二年征後蜀，袁繼忠擔任劉廷讓部下，秋毫無犯，知雲安軍（今四川雲陽），升嘉、蜀二州監軍。宋太宗繼位，遷閤門祗候，太平興國二年（977年）擊破梅山峒苞漢陽部。雍熙二年，遷西上閣門使。宋太宗淳化三年（992年）卒，生前帝賜錢財巨萬計，全部犒賞士卒，死後家無餘財。有子袁用成，雍熙進士。
