朱敦儒（1081年 - 1159年）字希真，洛陽人。靖康、建炎年間，朝廷數次召喚都未答應。紹興三年（1133年）被推薦補右迪功郎之職，五年（1135年）賜以進士出身擔任秘書省正字。後歷任兵部郎中、臨安府通判、秘書郎、都官員外郎、兩浙東路提點刑獄，而後致仕（退休），住在嘉禾，到秦檜下台，依舊不出，直到紹興二十九年去世。《宋史》卷四百四十五《文苑》七《朱敦儒傳》稱：「敦儒素工詩及樂府，婉麗清暢」。有詞三卷，名《樵歌》。有人把朱的詞風分為三段：即早年詞風濃艷、麗巧；中年詞風激越慷慨；閒居後詞風婉明清暢。後人比之李白，譽為詞仙。代表作有《鷓鴣天·西都作》，《水調歌頭·淮陰作》等。
