薛登，原名謙光，常州義興縣（今江蘇省宜興市）人，祖籍河東郡汾陰縣（今山西省運城市萬榮縣），出自河東薛氏南祖，北魏河東康王薛安都六代孫，唐代官員、文學家。薛登好議論，與徐堅星、劉子立齊名。文明元年（684年），解褐閬中主簿。武周天授年間，調任左補闕，累遷給事中。長安四年（704年）任常州刺史，轉刑部侍郎，尚書左丞。睿宗景雲年間擢拜御史大夫，有胡僧惠范恃太平公主權勢，魚肉鄉里，薛登與殿中慕容玽奏彈之，反為太平公主所構，出京為岐州刺史。後官昭文館學士。開元初年，為東都留守，又轉為太子賓客。其子為非作歹為憲司所劾，被牽連，放歸鄉里。《全唐傳》存詩一首。
